ZOOZOO Field Trip at Imago Theatre: Imago is bringing back to Portland its globetrotting production ZooZoo this holiday season. Bugeyes, hippos with insomnia, arrogant anteaters, introverted frogs, paradoxical polar bears, acrobatic worms, self-touting accordions and tricky penguins fill the stage with wonder, awe and humor.

This fun, educationally- creative performance gives students a chance to experience the power of theatre and the universal qualities of mask performance, first-hand.
Imago is eager to bring our mask theatre act to your school for an assembly performance. Drawing from our internationally-acclaimed show FROGZ, our ensemble of seasoned performers will leave children astonished by the dancing larva, then laughing uproariously at the slapstick comedy of a group of waddling ducks, goofy hippos and gigantic rolling orbs. Throughout, Imago's performers will skillfully embody charming creatures and anthropomorphic animals, and even invite select volunteers to participate in a mask-based improvisation.
The program closes with a question-and-answer period during which students get to discuss how Imago creates its various illusions and learn how masks have been used in various cultures around the globe and throughout history. Overall, the shared experience has consistently proven enthralling. Theatre is a social event that instills in each individual a sense of humanity. And for many students, a school visit from Imago is the initial step toward a lifelong love of and interest in theatre and the arts.
