Load-in and Parking.
Imago Theatre has a parking lot that fits about 20 cars. There is one handicapped parking space. Large trucks can load-in to the theater which is on the first floor from the parking lot door. Load in door is a standard size door (one portion can swing open for bigger access.)
Marquee
Renters can utilize a glass marquee which faces 8th avenue.
Seating Capacity
Seating capacity for proscenium presentations is roughly 220 seats. The theater capacity is 299 seats. The seats are raked from the stage floor which is level to the room floor, in other words its like gymnasium bleachers (however the seats are padded and have backs.)
Stage Floor and Playing area.
The stage floor is an old dance floor. It is sprung. Its is very creaky. We do not own a marley floor. The playing area is roughly 44’ deep (unless you add backstage cross over and dressing room then it would be 35’ deep.) The playing area is is 45’ wide. The I-beam height is 14’2” and the grid hieght is 15’3”
Dressing Rooms
There are no dressing rooms. But do not be alarmed. The black out curtain can be set downstage to allow for a backstage area of 10’ deep by 44’ wide. We recommend this configuration unless you do not need dressing rooms. A second floor ballroom may be available for rent for large casts. There are a few tables and chairs available (not many). Please provide your own partitions if you would like to create separate dressing areas for male and females. Please provide mirrors if you need them. Restrooms are located in the lobby and actors must maneuver through the public to access them.
Soft goods
All black velour, dead hung on pipes. Eight legs each 12’ X15’. One full black out curtain 50’ X 15’. One orange front curtain, hand pulled and tied off on pin rail 45’ X 15’.
Pin Rail
An old fashion pin rail is available downstage right for tying lines.
Grid
The theatre is equipped with grid for hanging lights, soft goods and rigging. Each pipe is rated at no more than 400 lbs. See drawing for location of grid.
Ladders
To reach grid an assortment of ladders are available.
Front of House
Imago Theatre does not provide FOH staff, telephone or ticket sales services. However, Imago renters may contract Imago staff for services.
Ticket Agency
Imago Theatre uses TicketsWest as our ticket agent.
